USFWS announces 15-day public comment period for a draft compatibility determination (CD) at Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge to breach the Herzog Levee within the refuge as part of a habitat restoration project to restore approximately 580 acres of agricultural land and adjacent farm berms to freshwater tidal emergent marsh floodplain habitat along Snodgrass Slough in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The draft CD is available electronically at https://www.fws.gov/refuge/stone-lakes and a hard copy is available at the refuge's visitor center at 1624 Hood-Franklin Road, Elk Grove, CA 95757. We ask stakeholders and the public to submit their comments and information relevant to the refuge's draft compatibility determination via email to [email protected] by 11:59 P.M.
