Our annual 'Let's Go Outside' event is scheduled for Saturday June 13 from 10am - 2pm. This free celebration for all ages includes opportunities from learning to fish, holding tide pool creatures, making art, joining nature walks, and more! This is an open streets event, meaning most of the road is closed to cars and open only to bike, walk, stroll, and roll. Parking at Lot 1 and the visitor center with a free shuttle in between. Please note: the refuge will delay opening until 9:45am and beach access will be restricted to fishing only until 2pm. No registration required, but sign up for updates at: bit.ly/parkerriversignup.
Visit Us
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service welcomes you to Parker River National Wildlife Refuge! National wildlife refuges offer us all a chance to unplug from the stresses of daily life and reconnect with our natural surroundings. Here, you can enjoy excellent wildlife-dependent recreational activities, including surf-fishing, wildlife observation and photography, a variety of interpretive programs, and seasonal waterfowl and deer hunting opportunities. A large visitor center - complete with a classroom and auditorium - supports many of these public uses.
