About Kelley Myers Tymeson

Kelley Myers is the acting Assistant Director for Science Applications.  She has been with the US Fish and Wildlife Service since 2017, working across programs to support cooperative conservation. She helped to develop the Midwest Landscape Initiative, create and support the Center for Pollinator Conservation, and organize Midwest grassland conservation efforts to compliment other efforts across the Central Plains. She most recently led the Midwest Region’s Conservation Investment Program.

Prior to joining the service, Kelley served as the general counsel for and ultimately as the director of parks, fish and wildlife programs for the state of Iowa.  She served on a number of boards and councils, including the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, the National Fish Habitat Partnership Board and the North American Wetland Conservation Council.  She never missed an opportunity to promote Iowa's natural resources and discuss the challenges of delivering conservation in a working landscape. She also served on the State of Iowa’s Continuous Improvement team, analyzing internal systems and helping to deliver government programs more efficiently and effectively.

Kelley holds a B.S. degree in Agriculture (emphasis in Natural Resources) from the University of Missouri in Columbia and a law degree from Pennsylvania State University.  She is originally from San Angelo, Texas, but now lives in Overland Park, Kansas, with her husband and their four children.  They fill their free time fishing, walking dogs and exploring.
