Migratory Bird Day Art Contest

Modoc National Wildlife Refuge is hosting a World Migratory Bird Day Event on October 10, 2026. This exciting outdoor education event celebrates wetlands and migratory birds.

Attention 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade Students, Teachers, & Parents: We are looking for students to submit bird art that could be used for our Modoc NWR World Migratory Bird Day Event flyer!

The Art Contest Submissions must be brought to the Modoc NWR Visitor Center. 

Entries will be shown at the Sportsman’s Outdoor Expo on June 27th at Veteran’s Park. Members of the public will vote on which one they like the most. The art entry with the most votes will be used on our event flyer. All entries will be displayed at our Visitor Center during the Oct. 10th event.

Contest Guidelines:

  • Size and Color: Entries must be on 8.5” x 11” paper and fully colored. 
  • Content: Designs must include imagery of a female Wilson’s Phalarope in breeding plumage.
  • Signature: Artists must sign their work. They should also write their grade on the back.

      Modoc NWR Westside Hunt Regulations and Map
